In The Shadow Of Time Hogwarts Legacy Quest Guide
In Hogwarts Legacy, the quest titled In The Shadow Of Time represents a critical turning point in Sebastian Sallow's personal storyline. Players join Sebastian in exploring ancient catacombs in search of a relic that might hold the key to curing his sister's curse. Along the way, you face intricate puzzles, dangerous dark forces, and moral dilemmas that shape your relationship with your Slytherin companion.
Starting the Quest and Entering the Catacomb
To begin this quest, meet Sebastian near the Feldcroft Catacomb after reaching the required level progression in the main story. Before heading inside, Sebastian discusses his desperate goal to save Anne using ancient magic and forgotten relics. Once prepared, enter the dark subterranean tomb where dangerous threats and skeletal barriers await.
Solving the Bone Door Puzzles
As you venture deeper into the catacomb, you encounter sealed barricades made of human bones that block further progress. Use Wingardium Leviosa or Accio to gather scattered skeletons from nearby altars and bring them to the doorway. Arranging the bones correctly creates a stable bridge or unlocks the doorway, allowing you to venture deeper into the catacomb.
Learning the Unforgivable Cruciatus Curse
During a pivotal moment deep within the tomb, Sebastian offers to teach you the Cruciatus Curse after confronting intense obstacles. Choosing whether to learn this Dark Arts spell depends on your preferred playstyle and moral path, though declining does not stop quest progression. This decision deepens the tension between Sebastian and Ominis Gaunt, who strongly opposes the use of dark magic.
Retrieving the Relic and Escaping Feldcroft
After retrieving the ancient relic, you must backtrack through the catacomb while battling waves of aggressive spiders and Inferi. Upon exiting back into Feldcroft, you find the village under attack by Ranrok's loyalist goblins, requiring immediate combat action. Defending the village leads to a tragic climax that severely alters Sebastian's family relationships forever.
